Doolittle is a 70-year old Western Washington based transportation infrastructure company that specializes in chip seal, a type of road surfacing method used by private and public entities. It is a pavement resurfacing process that will repair and resurface roadways at a substantial savings to re-asphalting a road. The company owns a fleet of specialized equipment including dump trucks, tanker trucks, sweepers, asphalt distributors and chip spreaders. The company is clearly a road “maintenance” provider and has a recurring revenue with many of the same customers, including its perennial largest customer, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

The Company is one of the largest Electrical and Instrumentation companies in North America with approximately 5,000 employees operating in over 75 branch locations in Canada, 20 locations in the United States, and 4 locations in Southwest Asia and the Middle East. The company also has a sizeable structural fabrication and design business, which is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.
Bradford Creswell, Partner
Brad is a cofounder of the firm and has been a Partner since its inception in 1992. Brad is currently on the boards of two privately held portfolio companies, PTW Energy Services and Doolittle. Throughout his career, Brad has been a board member of a number of portfolio companies. Prior to joining NCA, Brad worked at Bankers Trust (which was subsequentially acquired by Deutsche Bank) in the corporate finance department in New York City. Brad started his career in the audit department of Arthur Young where he earned his CPA. Brad is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
John Jacobs, Partner
John has been a partner at the firm since he joined in 2004. John is currently on the boards of two privately held portfolio companies, PTW Energy Services and Doolittle. John has also been a board member of a number of private and public companies. Prior to joining NCA, John spent 23 years in investment banking in New York and Seattle. For more than fifteen years John worked for Piper Jaffray & Company, ten of which he ran the firm’s global technology practice. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, John worked for the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City where he worked in the commercial bank as well as the investment bank. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Ohio Wesleyan University and received a Masters of International Management degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Lisa has been the Chief Financial Officer since joining the firm in 2007. Before joining NCA, Lisa worked as the Controller at Fisher Properties, Fox LLC, and Northwest Immigrants Rights Project. She also worked as the Chief Financial Officer for one of the firm’s portfolio companies Doolittle Construction from 2021 to 2022. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science from Central Washington University in Finance and Accounting.
